Description
Cuttlefish are mysterious creatures that can be found around Ireland’s seas. If you’re lucky you might happen upon a nursery of the teeny creatures in a shallow bay; however, more often you’ll find the lone boney remains of a cuttlefish washed up on the shore. These creatures are delightful to watch in the water, looking as if swimming backwards, where they propel themselves by siphoning water through chambers under their body.
This original watercolour painting was created on Aquarello Artistico Traditional White 100% Cotton Grana Satinata Hot Pressed paper using various watercolours, white gouache and salt.
