Description
Inishtearaght is the most Westerly lying island off the Blaskets along County Kerry’s Wild Atlantic Way. An inhospitable island, it rises steeply to a height of 656 feet on one of the prominent peaks of its two pinnacles. Completely exposed to the extreme weather conditions of the Atlantic ocean it has a lighthouse on the side of the island featuring the most treacherous outcrops of rock. I’ve painted the dramatic view one might see travelling by boat.
This original watercolour painting was created on Fabriano Acquarello Grana Fina Cold Press 25% Cotton paper using various watercolours and white gouache.
