Irish landscape painting by

Description

This is a small painting of a dramatic light pouring over the Kerry mountains late in the evening seen from just outside Fenit. I built up the colours using multiple thin and thick layers of oil paint and I deliberately avoided too much detail by working on a small canvas with the largest brush’s possible. It was a summers night and the place had warm strong atmosphere which I think I’ve captured quite well in this simple painting.
