This is a painting of the North Kerry coastline, near Ballybunion. It depicts a fairly wild and windy overcast day with a high tide. I tried to capture the ferocity of the wind and sea by layering the paint on with large brushstrokes. I was very happy with the result; using smaller brush’s and lots of detail would have have made the painting more accurate, I suppose, but it would have been a lot tamer.
