Donal Sorohan

I am an Artist originally from County Leitrim.  The focus of my work is on originality of style straight from the heart. I  work using different styles dwelling on the human form especially the female nude paintings  as well as portraits. Colour is an important element of my work. I use oil paint. I studied in Wimbledon, London and obtained my degree in painting at Limerick school of art.

I lived in Paris, France for seven years where I represented Ireland in an international art exhibition in the Eiffel Tower in 1991, exhibited at the Irish Culture Centre, Paris and at OCED, Paris. Visiting new places and learning new cultures gives me the opportunity to find inspiration. Travelling from Australia where I found Australian aboriginal culture fascinating to Mexico where I planned to visit for 3 months and ended up living for over 3 years. Later when I returned to Europe I moved to Malaga, this city was an inspiration for me. I am currently based in County Tipperary.
