Originally from Edinburgh in Scotland, Emma resides in Glin, West Limerick, on the scenic ‘Shannon Estuary Way’, border to North Kerry with her husband and family. Emma was awarded ‘The Vice Convenor’s’art award’ at 17 years and pursued her dreams of studying art and design in Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design in Dundee, Scotland achieving a BDes (Hons) in Illustration and Printmaking. She also qualified from Edinburgh University in art education (P.G.D.E. with an overall distinction) and a P.g (Dip.) in Multimedia Technologies and Interactive Systems.  After nearly 20 years of different career ventures and starting a family, she returned to creating art and just recently became a full time artist. Irish wildlife, florals, sea and landscapes and the stunning coastlines inspire and motivate.

Emma’s paintings are vibrant and joyful with a playful use of colour and compositions. Her styles combine with traditional, abstract, illustrative and expressive elements using design concepts. Evoking emotion, dreamy concepts and memories that capture those who can relate and connect with their interpretations. Emma paints in both acrylics and oils (or both together), with mixed media elements such as watercolour, inks and oil pastels. Exploring and experimenting the ongoing creative processes and journeys of discovery continually keep her interested, challenged and motivated.Emma has sold paintings locally, nationally and internationally. She actively participates in exhibitions, solo and group, art fairs and fundraisers for charities.
