This painting entitled “Poolbeg” features the wet sands of Sandymount Strand at low tide with the unmistakeable and iconic Poolbeg Towers reflected in the rippling puddles and dominating the skyline.

The colours in the sky have been applied with Johnman’s inimitable palate gently missed into each other.  The sand is created, using a vibrant metallic gold, overlaid with a transparent, gold-glitter varnish to give it the sparkle and lustre of being wet.

The puddles are painted with metallic silver adding to the lustre of the piece.

Measuring 50cm x 100cm it is presented ready to hang as pictured in a beautiful and contemporary black, floating tray frame.
