Description

This painting is based on a photograph I took on a summer’s afternoon when out walking in Sandymount. The green is a favourite spot for locals and I was attracted to the light sweeping through the trees and the evening sun casting those striking shadows over the ground. The reference had a row of cars parked along the street in the background which I decided to omit. Instead I wanted to focus on Brownes, which has almost become an institution in Sandymount.
