I recently purchased an original oil painting titled Lough Foyle (from Quigleys Point) by the talented artist Brian Scampton from www.art4you.ie, and I’m thrilled with the entire experience—from browsing to receiving the final piece. The site, www.art4you.ie, was easy to navigate, offering a great selection of artwork. I was impressed with the variety and quality of paintings available, and the site provided high-resolution images and detailed descriptions of each piece. This made it easy for me to make an informed decision. The checkout process was smooth, and David from the website helped me with every detail including exchanging info with the painter so I could collect as I needed it urgently. I also found the customer service to be responsive and helpful, providing me with all the information I needed throughout my purchase. Overall, the experience was seamless and enjoyable. The painting I purchased, Lough Foyle (from Quigleys Point), is beautiful. Brian Scampton’s attention to detail is extraordinary. The way he captures the light, the reflections on the water, and the surrounding landscape is nothing short of breathtaking. The oil painting feels so moody yet vibrant and alive, almost as if the viewer could step right into the scene. It's clear that Brian has a deep understanding of the natural world and an incredible ability to translate that into his artwork. I’m absolutely delighted with the piece—it has become a stunning focal point in my parents home who I gifted it to for a special wedding anniversary. In short, both www.art4you.ie and Brian Scampton exceeded my expectations. I am beyond pleased with my purchase and will definitely return to both the site and the artist for future pieces. Highly recommend!

I have been working professionally as an artist for just over two decades and specialize in coastal and urban landscapes in acrylics, and in oils.

Old rural homesteads, lighthouses, sandy coves and quiet harbours are occasional motifs in my work, or ancient ruined fortresses and towers, disused boathouses and the scattered remnants of habitations long past. However my main interest is absorbed with the elements of sky, sea and coastal land and rocks. I am interested above all in the atmospheric effects and emotional power of light and shadow and colour. I like to achieve a quiet and contemplative mood in my paintings. Painting, for me, is about responding with some personal feeling to the life and qualities of things as I experience them in the world around me.

I have worked in pastels and charcoal as well and have some experience of printmaking techniques.
