Gerard O'Callaghan is a painter and a graduate of CIT Crawford College of Art and Design working and living in Cork city. He attended Coláiste Stiofáin Naofa and completed the Art, Craft and Design and Business with Painting courses where he learned about light and colour through direct observation. He then completed his degree in fine art in 2016 where his final year was spent concentrating exclusively on painting. He then took part in a summer residency in Southampton UK to continue painting which subsequently refined his subject matter. Since graduating Gerard has exhibited in Ireland, UK and France and has work in public and private collections.
