Description
This is a framed, small oil on wood panel painting of Abbey street on a sunny evening in early April. The painting depicts the Luas red line train coming across O’Connell Street. The light was really impressive and dazzling as it bounced off the front of the Luas train.
As this is a relatively small painting : W 46 cm x H 30 cm, I decided to keep the shapes fairly simple rather than cram it detail like I sometimes do. The result is one of my most impressionistic paintings to date. I am especially pleased with capturing the atmosphere of the time and place.
There is also a companion painting looking west from the same day.
