The village of Dalkey is one of my favourites and has always been part of my life having lived so close by in Glenageary.  I have loved Dalkey Island in particular as it was a place of mystery to me as a child where I imagined Enid Blyton’s “The Famous Five” would row to and explore, find treasure and adventure!  Painting this was truly enjoyable and I may have to paint it again and again – perhaps at different times of the day.
