Description

This painting was inspired by a trip to the coast of South-West Donegal several years ago. A personal favourite, it is an attempt to convey in paint my unforgettable experience of  exploring this marvellous beach, overwhelming in its impression of immense space and sublime silence while experienced solitarily during that quiet early season before the visitors arrive in significant numbers. It contains fascinating caves, above which the steep gleaming cliff rocks stretch out toward the remotely glimpsed sea horizon.
