This is a simple painting of a street in Temple Bar in Dublin.  The time is evening in late spring, it captures a brief period of sunshine after nearly a day full of persistent rain.

There is something about that atmosphere with the crisp, clean air, the combination of raindrops and sunshine causing everything to sparkle with glinting highlights, that pleasantly holds my attention

in the present.
