1. No Experience is a virtue. Looking at my work puts you inside a moment to experience the laughter, the sadness, the confusion, the heartbreak, the fear and the bliss shared in a single expression.

My name is Bertus Fister. Born in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, my journey has taken me through South America and Spain before I found my true sense of home along the coast of southern Wexford, Ireland, where I have lived in peace since 2010.
Painting has always been my constant companion. While I spent many years working in printing and digital design, my passion for painting never faded. Since 2021, I have been creating a series of expressive faces in acrylic on canvas, following my own path and my own style. I never know where a painting will end or how it will finish — it takes over the moment my brush touches the canvas. Sometimes it demands blood, sweat, and tears, and always a generous portion of time.
Each work is a living reflection of emotion — joy, calm, intensity, and reflection all woven together. When one of my paintings finds a new home, it carries with it a piece of me, a trace of the journey it took to come alive.
