Nicholas Warinton

I started my career in advertising, working in London and Dublin advertising agencies in the 1970s and 80s as an art director, graphic designer and illustrator. 

I left the commercial sector in 1983 to find something that for me was more fulfilling: teaching art, design and photography to disabled and disadvantaged adults. I continued working with disability services for nearly 40 years.

I started exhibiting my own photography in 2006, and had three solo exhibitions in Dublin. I was delighted when Cambridge University Press asked to use one of my images as a cover for a  book on environmental issues.

As time went on I  focused more on painting and drawing. My current work reflects the same fascination with texture and landscape which also drives my photography. The two activities overlap, though for me painting is the more fulfilling and now occupies most of my time. Perhaps it reflects an older, quieter me! I have sold paintings in Ireland, the UK, the US, France and Germany.
