Description
This is a loose oil on wood painting of O’Connell Street in Dublin on a winters night in January. Like most people, I suppose, I tend to find cities far more interesting to look at at night than during the day; the lights and colours pop in high dynamic contrast and the people on the street tend to behave in a more colourful manner also.
The O’ Connell monument stands as an enduring centre piece that I imagine will be there for centuries to come while everything else like the McDonalds in the background is strictly temporary.
