For all the days I’ve spent at sea, surfing is one way I’ve never experienced it. I was inspired to do this painting after seeing photos of surfers off the south west coast of Africa. The waves were unbelievably massive compared to the people surfing them. Not for the faint hearted.

This original watercolour painting was created on Fabriano Acquarello Grana Fina Cold Press 25% Cotton paper using various watercolours and white gouache.
