I love tea.

I have a variety of teapots and this is my red ‘tea leaf’ pot. When it’s clean and shiny, it looks pretty good so I painted it.

But I needed something to offset the red against the blue background. So I popped my enamel mug in there.

The colour combination gives it a distinct French or American feel. Which is strange, because neither are a tea-drinking nation. Not to worry though, because the Irish are.

LITTLE KNOWN FACT –  Irish artists make more cups of tea than any other professional creatives. Although they don’t necessarily drink more. Artists make more tea because when we are concentrating on a painting we will often dip our brush into the teacup rather than the container with the cleaning fluid! Occupational hazard!
