Description

One of a series of moody still life oils that depict the moment before one element of the composition destroys the other. It’s only a food fight but I wanted to create a sense of drama. To take an otherwise normal still life and overlay it with a new narrative – in this case the inevitability of the damage to be caused by the whisk.  The use of the light box and the title of the series add to the drama. And the single spotlight also conjures up thoughts of an impending battle. I also love the frames on these. And the drama all ends in something beautiful – dinner!
