This is another pallet knife, oil on hardwood painting of an Irish mountain stream in late afternoon. I again opted for a loose impressionistic style as it captures the sense of energy and movement of the fast flowing stream. I originally painted this one with paint brush’s but i felt it was a little static and too ‘painterly’ it wasn’t really capturing the textures and feeling of the scene so I switched to a small, diamond shaped, pallet knife and that was much better, I just had to rework most of the painting which I was happy to do.
