Description
Contemporary, expressive, radioactive flowers in a vase. This is the second painting by the artist in the series under the slogan: RADIOACTIVITY. Radioactivity has accompanied us since the beginning of our planet’s existence. It contributed to the formation of celestial bodies and helped to create life on Earth. Few people know that we live in an environment filled with natural radionuclides. Every second you read this text, you are bombarded with about half a million gamma quanta from the rocks, soil, and even the walls of the building you are in. To this must be added 150 quanta that come directly from space, as well as radiation that comes from ourselves, mainly from the decay of the potassium-40 isotope (about 4,000 decays per second). I am not counting radioactive isotopes, mainly radon, inhaled with the air. Gamma radiation is so common that it is almost a miracle to find a place where it is not present.
