Description

This is a painting of a stream in local woodland, it was a bright sunny summer afternoon, but because of the density of the leaves on the trees not much sunlight was coming through to the forest floor. It was also raining lightly.
In this palette knife painting I have tried to capture the atmosphere I saw/felt on the day, with some success,  I hope you agree. If you live in Ireland you have probably seen something similar on numerous occasions.
In the background there is a branch close to the stream with some birds on it, they were around on the day but I didn’t capture them in that exact location on my phone. I took a bit of artistic license and put them in there anyway, They are purposely vague so you would barely catch a glimpse of them the way I did on the day.
The painting is slightly romanticized rather than realistic but I think I get away with it.
