I'm a wildlife artist, living in Co Mayo, mainly painting the Irish wildlife I've encountered over the many years, whilst fly fishing for trout and salmon in the West of Ireland, and formerly in Scotland. My style is near-realism, using Gouache watercolour for paintings and Polychromos colour pencil for drawings. I've also, recently, started painting Galway Hookers, in acrylic and Gouache watercolour, and one of my "Hooker" paintings is on permanent display in Kate's Cottage, Claddagh at Galway Harbour. During the first Covid lockdown at the beginning of 2020, where it wasn't possible to get out fly fishing on my local Lough Corrib, I painted a Mayfly (ephemera danica), which is the most well-known insect in Irish trout fishing. By coincidence, that same year a committee of European Entomologists designated the Mayfly as "The Insect of the Year" for 2021. I submitted a print of my Mayfly painting for scrutiny to the head of that committee, Prof. Dr. Thomas Schmitt, Director of the Senckenberg German Entomological Institute, Müncheberg, Berlin, and as a result, a framed print of my Mayfly painting was displayed in the Institute Reception for the whole of 2021.

More recently, I self-funded an exhibition of my art in Cong, Co Mayo for 2 days in October, where my exhibition was titled "original Art at Affordable Prices", under the banner of my new, at that time, website www.mayoart.ie. I exhibited 25 pieces of art, sold a few pieces and took on a few commissions. It is intended to hold additional art exhibitions during 2023
