Description

With this painting I’ve pushed towards a more abstract style. Working from photos taken while out walking on the beach, I originally decided to omit the figures. I concentrated only on the landscape. As the painting progressed, I reconsidered the option of including the figures from my photo references. I felt the figures needed to be kept quiet loose and once finished I was satisfied they were sitting well with the overall composition.
