Description
This composition is my second time painting the ‘Bridge Meadow’. The painting is much larger than my first picture, and both views are from a small lane that leads up to the golf club. Bunclody is a small town in County Wexford. My mother grew up there and remembers walking across the bridge to school. The meadow is to the left. I enjoyed painting the large bank of trees in the distance, and unlike my first painting, I’ve included the branches at the top in the foreground that drape down and help frame the scene. It’s a beautiful spot, and I hope I’ve caught the essence of that afternoon, quiet, peaceful, and bathed in warm sunshine.
